Disclosure Policy

LMKIA here–

Below is our official disclosure policy as required by the FTC. However I wanted to add a few personal comments about how the LMKIA family of blogs work.

  1. We will always be truthful and honest with you.  This is our promise!
  2. We will never recommend something we would not use ourselves.  Every item in this guide has been personally tested and tried by one of us!  When selecting items for the guide we rejected any items that were either well outside the frugal price range, or just weren’t practical for ourselves or our readers.  There were lots of great items that wanted to be included, but we felt they just did not fit what you, our readers, would be interested in.  We want you to be able to trust us, so this is a key principle for us!
  3. These are our honest opinions.  If I don’t like a product, I will say so.  If I find something wrong, I will say so.  I don’t want to be a billboard for a product–I want to represent you!
  4. We do receive products for free.  Some we get to keep, some we do not.  We are not paid any money for the reviews of the items.  And even though we are receiving the product for free, we will still be honest with you.  Trust me, there are a few items that were sent that are not appearing in the guide–because we didn’t feel they lived up to our standards for what we’d recommend to you!
  5. Some links to websites to purchase products are affiliate links, which means we get paid a small percentage of your purchase.  Again, we do not recommend stores or products we would not ourselves buy or use.  But we did want to let you know that when you shop our Amazon store, we get paid a small percentage of your purchases.  When you print a coupon from Coupons.com, we get paid a small fee.  (typically under .05 a coupon)  Honestly, this is how we make our income from the websites.  We know most of you realize this, but none of us (LMKIA, Marci, Amber or Mendy) would feel right unless we told you.

Please remember when reading our site that we are simply four moms out there trying to make a difference by helping people save money.  Our observations and opinions are our own–and therefore what we think or experience may not be what you think or experience.  We’re human and sometimes we make mistakes–we will correct them if at all possible.  Our ultimate goal is to be a help to you, our readers, and we will take every step we can to do so!
