Rachel Ray and Snapfish Give Back!
I love Rachel Ray! She is bright and bubbly, down to earth and well, a little over the top! Just like me! (the over-the-top part! If you’ve met me in a store by me peeking into your cart and being nosy McNoserton, you know what I mean!)
Rachel visited the tri-state earlier this month to throw a huge Thanksgiving dinner sponsored by Snapfish for the folks in Wilmington who have been experiencing so much hardship lately after DHL moved out. She and Nick Lachey cooked dinner, entertained the crowd and had a great time with all the people there. To get in you had to have lost your job or be unemployed in the Wilmington area. They also worked together to donate thousands of canned goods to local food pantries!
Tomorrow the show airs, and it really highlights the need in this area. If you’ve been around the past few weeks, you know that I’m passionate about what’s happening at our area food banks. Donations are dwindling, while demand has tripled! The Brighton Center alone said it would feed more than 7,000 people during the holidays! That’s simply staggering! I’m so proud of all of you who have donated–we’ve raised over $10,000 in donations since the beginning of November! Remke continues their food drive for the Brighton Center, so don’t forget to stop by with your donation!
You can catch Rachel and Nick, and a good look at our neighbors in Wilmington, tomorrow at 11 on WLWT in the Cincinnati area. Tune in and see all the fun they had and all the people they’ve helped!
And to celebrate the good work Rachel and Snapfish have been doing, Snapfish is offering LMKIA readers a special coupon code and a giveaway!
Head over to Snapfish’s website where between November 25th and December 2nd they are offering you 50% off your own photobook using code RRBOOK. Snapfish will also donate $1 from each book to a local foodbank. You save money, get a great present for someone, and a family in need is helped. That’s what I call a win-win-win!
But wait, there’s even more!
Snapfish is giving away a $35 gift certificate to one lucky LMKIA reader so you can create your own photobook totally FREE! (And we all love FREE around here!) To enter, leave a comment below sharing either how you’ve used what you’ve learned on our site to donate to those in need, or how someone else has donated to help you! There are three ways to enter:
- Tell us a way you have used what you’ve learned from LMKIA to bless others–or the way someone has blessed you!
- Subscribe to my RSS feed!
- Check out LMKIA’s photos from the Brighton Center food drive on FB!
Leave a new comment below for each entry! I’ll pick a winner at 9 pm on November 27th!

Great giveaway! Been working on a photobook just waiting for a deal so I’m ready to go!
Best thing I’ve learned from LMKIA: Encouragement to look beyond myself as I gather deals — if I’m able to buy 2 of something because I see it cheap here I can give 1 away, not keep both.

I’m new to LMKIA but I’m not new to charitable donations, especially around the holidays. I hope to learn more tricks to stretch my dollar to help more people in need!
Fanned on FB too! Awesome food pantry pics! Love the pics with the laudry baskets, really overflowing, great job!
I am a rookieto the whole coupon world and reading your posts have been an inspiration to me….I am totally challenged and amazed by the posts of all the SAVINGS!! I myself have 3 young children and I currently stay at home with them, well with the struggling economy, we have been faced with the fear of having to go back to work earlier than we had planned. After researching you website and reading on all the ways to save, my husband and I decided to give it a whirl…I love a good challenge and this is like a game for me, I am trying to beat my savings from the week before. In doing this, I am saving money and in return, getting to stay home with my 3 babies a little longer ( and not to mention, donating the “freebies” or close to freebies to a local church food pantry
My oldest, (4) is learning a lot about the community and lending a helping hand, she gets a kick out of this also…) It has been a wonderful teaching tool for my whole family! I have a sincere and appreciative THANK YOU to LMKIA!!!
ive used lmkia to find good deals to help my sister who is a single mom to be ..so diapers formula food deals are always good to see! thank you so much for doing what you do!
