From Our Pantry to Yours! Search Your Stockpiles to Stuff the Shelves!
The Brighton Center announced this week that they will run out of food on Friday unless significant donations were received. So let’s do that! Let’s Stuff the Shelves and show them what Coupon Power can do!! With all the freebies we’ve all been getting from Kroger these past 10 days, I know we’ve all got lots we can share!
The Brighton Center served 66,000 people last year, and fed more than 835 families in October alone, almost 3 times as many people as in October 2008! If we don’t step in and help, there are hundreds of families that will go without food–and with the holidays coming, you can be sure that number will go way up! I don’t know about you, but for me, letting families go hungry when I’ve got a food pantry of my own is JUST NOT ACCEPTABLE!
Search those stockpiles for extras, put em in a box, bag, on a donkey–I don’t care how you get them here! Just get them down to the Brighton Center on Friday! I’ll be out there with CincySavers from 9-12 am collecting donations and giving little mini-classes and coupon tips to the people who are coming in to donate food. Marci of Cincinnati Coupons and Amber of SavingMoneyWisely will be there too to help collect food and share their coupon wisdom! And we’ll have

Where is the Brighten Center where you will be collecting food?

There is a brighton center in florence. Can we drop of there also?
You’d have to call them. I don’t think that’s the food center. That’s one of their child care centers I think.
I am trying to set up a place to meet you tonight to bring some items for donation.

Can’t wait to see the power of this coupon network fill those shelves. I’ve raided my ’stash’; hit Kroger for a special shopping trip for Brighton and will go again for another round before heading to the Center tomorrow. This is truly a wonderful thing and I appreciate the opportunity to be a part of it. I’m also grateful to all of the wonderful people who work so hard to gather the information and make it easy for the rest of us. Blessings and kudos to all.
